Breathing easy and keeping your lungs clear is essential for good health, especially as we get older. If you’re looking for a natural remedy to help clear out cough and mucus, a homemade tea made with lemon, ginger, and rosemary could be the answer. This powerful trio has respiratory benefits and offers a simple yet effective way to cleanse your lungs in just a few days.

Why Lemon, Ginger, and Rosemary?
Lemon is rich in vitamin C, which helps boost the immune system and remove toxins from the body. Ginger is an excellent anti-inflammatory that reduces irritation in the airways and helps loosen mucus from the lungs. And while rosemary is commonly used in cooking, it also has antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties that are great for respiratory health.

Ingredients
1 lemon
1 piece of ginger (about 2 inches long)
1 sprig of fresh rosemary (or 1 teaspoon dried rosemary)
4 cups of water
Optional: honey to taste
Instructions
Prepare the Ingredients
Rinse the lemon and slice it, keeping the peel on to retain the essential oils.
Peel and slice the ginger.
If using fresh rosemary, rinse the sprig under cold water.

Simmer the Ingredients
In a medium-sized pot, bring the water to a boil.
Add the ginger slices and rosemary to the boiling water and let them simmer for about 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, add the lemon slices and continue to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
Steep and Serve
Remove the pot from the heat and let the tea steep for a few more minutes to intensify the flavors.
Strain the tea into a cup or teapot, removing the solids.
Add honey to taste, if desired, for its soothing properties and sweetness.
