Bacon Wrapped Green Beans

Bacon – I’d recommend using a thin sliced cut of bacon for this. A thicker cut won’t cook through as easily or get as crispy. Maple bacon will also be tasty.

Sauce – We’ll make a sweet and savory sauce out of butter, brown sugar, and garlic powder by melting everything together and brushing it over the beans.
What We Love About This Recipe:
These little roasted green bean bundles are sweet, savory, and so simple to throw together. Easy enough for any night of the week, but nice enough for a holiday dinner.

How To Roast Green Beans:
Prepare: Start pre-heating your oven to 400 degrees and prepare the green beans by washing and drying them and then snapping off the ends. Place a wire cooling rack over a large cookie sheet.

Wrap: You’ll take a handful of green beans (about 5 to 10, depending on how large you want each bundle) and lay them across a strip of bacon.

Roll the bacon up around the green bean bundle and place it seam side down on the rack. Repeat for each remaining bundle of green beans.

Sauce: Melt some butter in a sauce pan on the stove over low heat, then mix in the brown sugar and garlic powder until well combined. This shouldn’t take more than a minute or two, just until it’s combined. Brush each bundle of green beans with the sauce and then sprinkle with salt and pepper.

HELPFUL TIP!
If you want to add a little extra savory flavor to the sauce try mixing in a bit of soy sauce!

Roast: You can now cover the sheet with foil and roast in the oven for 35 minutes. After that remove the foil and let it continue to roast uncovered for another 10 to 15 minutes, or until the bacon is nice and crispy!
